Fran Drescher

Fran Drescher is an American actress, comedian, and activist, best known for creating and starring in the popular sitcom The Nanny. Born in 1957 in Queens, New York, she began her career with a role in Saturday Night Fever (1977) before achieving stardom. Drescher is a cancer survivor and founder of the Cancer Schmancer Movement, which advocates for early detection and healthy living. In 2021, she was elected president of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and was instrumental in negotiating the end of the 2023 actors' strike.

Gail Pellerin

ELECTION BOARD
Assemblymember Gail Pellerin was elected to the California State Assembly in November of 2022 to represent the 28th Assembly District.

Assemblymember Pellerin served as the chief elections official in Santa Cruz County from 1993 until her retirement in December 2020. Gail served as President of the California Association of Clerks and Election Officials from 2010 to 2012 and as co-chair of the Secretary of State’s Voting Accessibility Advisory Committee.

Gail has a BS in Journalism from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Before her experience in public service, Gail worked as a campaign assistant to political campaigns, a newspaper reporter and photographer, and a community college instructor.

Jim Desmond

CALIFORNIA WATER BOARD
Desmond served on the San Marcos city council from 2004 to 2006 before being elected as the city's mayor in 2006. He was re-elected in 2010 and 2014 without opposition.

In 2018, Desmond ran for the fifth district seat on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Desmond, a Republican, and Michelle Gomez, a Democrat, advanced from the June primary with 45.1% and 22.9% of the vote, respectively. Desmond went on to defeat Gomez in the November general election with 56.3% of the vote.

Thomas Holyoke

CALIFORNIA WATER BOARD
Dr. Thomas Holyoke is Professor of Political Science at Fresno State and Assistant Director of Research and Education at the California Water Institute. He received his Ph.D. from The George Washington University in 2004 and is a specialist in interest group politics, education policy, and western water policy. He is also the author of over three-dozen research articles and book chapters, as well as four books, the most recent of which is Water Politics: The Fragmentation of Western Water Policy published in 2023 by Routledge.

Jack Connor is a Filmmaker & Documentary specialist. He started Lingua Aeterna after helping build many language LLM and AI. As an avid language conservationist, he saw the opportunity when LLM technology became good enough to create an actual talking, interactive record of a language.

With the help of O’Shaughnessy Ventures, we’re working hard to preserve languages such as Navajo, Ngäbare, Yiddish, Irish, and more.
